Experimental Printmaking

In this lesson, students will be exploring four different types of printmaking that will inform the planning for their final printmaking project. Each student will choose one of the four printmaking methods explored to create a final print with a pattern or design of their choice. The students will engage in a class critique using sticky notes to comment on each others’ artwork.

Texture Play with Clay

In this lesson, students will explore making different marks and textures on clay using a variety of tools and objects. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with the clay and tools/objects before deciding on a final design for their mugs. The students will develop an artist statement to explain the texture and design decisions of their final mug.
